i'm rachael, i've been hairdressing for
about 37 years now and i am the middle sister.
i was 16 when i started my apprenticeship
and i'm still going! we grew up in bucklands beach, where i bought my first salon at the local marina when i was 25. that's where my sisters started working with me and the rest is history. i have since had a daughter who is now close to starting high school, sold that original business and moved out to beachlands with our joint venture, sisters
on wakelin. i think a big part of why we’ve been successful is that we know we can always rely on each other. the three of us will always be there, we work hard, and we support each other
how does fashion and moochi play into
your day to day?
i love to look well groomed, dressed up
and professional. i strongly believe that first impressions count – when you walk into
a salon you want your hairdresser to look smart, fashionable and nicely put together. i’ve always found that my moochi pieces do this for me, i feel confident and ready to take on the day

this progressed to me coming on full time and we’ve worked together ever since. my role in
the business involves handling all the bookings, accounts & paperwork. working together is amazing – we have always been really close as sisters and a family. i think that is something a lot of people love as well, coming into our salon you get a sense of family

fashion is a big part of our business. it all ties together, hair and clothing - the way we present ourselves. moochi is one of those brands i know

you’ve all been moochi customers for years now, how did you first discover the brand?
Rachael: i've loved moochi forever, before social media or anything, just good old fashioned shopping. we came across the broadway store in newmarket during one of our shopping trips and we’ve never stopped going back. it sums up my style perfectly, classic, simple, monotone (i love black!) - just very me
Charlotte: i was introduced through my sisters. when I was starting off I would borrow their pieces because i loved the quality and versatility
Jo: yeah, it's been so long i can’t even remember where it comes from. for years
we have just loved moochi. we also went
to the high street store a lot. we stopped
by moochi with a great friend of ours from switzerland who visits annually, ever since then she’s sworn by it, going for a haul every visit

Rachael: i have a few chiffon moochi dresses that i've worn and loved for years. i had a phase where i really loved dresses, they’re comfortable yet feminine, and the chiffon ones are so easy to care for. i reach for them constantly, on days i can't decide what to wear and know i want to look good and feel good all day. the latest pieces i've been loving are the luxe jogger short, rarely dress and tux blazer
Jo: i've had some of my moochi pieces for something like 10 years now – they just never date and are a beautiful quality. a suit i bought for my daughter’s graduation a few years ago i continue to wear to work and everyone loves it! from the new palette i am in love with the ease of the floral linen set – the carved shirt and coached pant
Charlotte: my current favourites are the mesh slingblacks, just love the look and ease of them for summer. those with the matching onward short sleeve shacket and select skirt - need
